Unity Candle Ceremony
This ceremony signifies the heritage each is bringing to the marriage
and is symbolizing the union of the two families. Bride and groom each
receive a lighted candle and jointly light the flaming chalice with these
candles. The vows
are customized according to this ceremony, the family is being honored.
If the parents are present, they might light the candle for their respective
child. During this ceremony it is also possible, if you so wish, to be
silent together in memory of family members no longer with you, particularly
grandparents.
